Indie rock band The Barmines are rapidly become a name to watch.
The four-piece – who comprise Rob Burton, Leam Hayes, Liam Lockey and James May, from Belle Isle and Hunslet – have been chosen to play at the Strawberry Fields Festival, which takes place at Cattows Farm in Leicestershire between August 8 and 10, and at Bingley Music Live on August 30.
They’re also through to the final heats of the Futuresound competition to win a place at Leeds and Reading Festivals. That takes place at The Wardrobe on July 17.
The band cite Oasis, the Stone Roses, Kasabian, Miles Kane and Arctic Monkeys among their influences. They’ve worked with Mike Heaton from Embrace and released an EP, There’s Never Any Romance, late last year.
