What a week we’ve had. This time seven days ago we had announced that we’d be welcoming Prince to the First Direct Arena at the end of this month.

Since then the announcements have kept on coming with both pop crooner James Blunt and indie rock pioneers James being booked in for this November. It’s not been quiet.

The reaction to Prince was superb, with thousands of tickets flying out in minutes. It’s really great to see the biggest names in music coming to Leeds.

On that note, we’re currently preparing for the arrival of Miley Cyrus, who’s bringing her Bangerz tour here on Saturday.

With what can only be described as a surprise packed stage show and some of the most iconic pop songs of the moment, it’s sure to be a gig that nobody will forget - it’s certainly not going to be boring!

The arena team are also working hard in preparation for our inaugural Matchroom Boxing bout, North Power, featuring local lad Josh Warrington.

With tickets selling really well, it will be a night for Yorkshire boxing fans to savour.

Following the success of his fourth studio album Moon Landing, James Blunt will be performing at the First Direct Arena this November.
Tickets for the Monday 24 November show go on sale Friday 9 May from 9.00am, priced £37.50.

Josh Warrington will defend his Commonwealth Featherweight title at First Direct Arena in Leeds on Wednesday May 21 live on Sky Sports – the first Matchroom Boxing show in the city.
The 23 year old Leeds man defended his title in style on Saturday night at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester, forcing the retirement of former World title challenger Rendall Munroe after eight rounds of his first defence of the belt he won in Hull in November.

WWE Live WrestleMania Revenge have announced more fighters to the match card. WWE favourites Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan will be going head to head in a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match. Alongside this, Kane, Ryback and Curtis Axel will be going against The Shield in an epic six man tag match. Joining these fighters will be Bad News Barrett, Mark Henry, The Rhodes Brothers, Jack Swagger, Zeb Colter, Big E, Sin Cara, Alexander Rusev, Lana, Naomi, Cameron and AJ when they gather to rumble at the First Direct Arena this summer.
Tickets for the May 16 event cost £25.00.
To book tickets visit www.firstdirectarena.com, phone 0844 248 1585, or book your tickets from the first direct arena box office, located in Leeds Trinity Service Centre Lounge.
