Have your say

The new wave of pop sensation has arrived in the form of Zara Larsson. Forget your Rhiannas and your Ed Sheerans, Zara Larsson is the new face and sound of your young daughter/niece’s Christmas CD cover.

Having been around on the circuit for what already seems like an eternity, the 19 year old Swede is making more waves on the music circuit than a bath full of splashing penguins. Having racked up Spotify streams with more numbers on the end than I can count, Larsson is bringing her Scandinavian style to the masses and does so in fantastic form with her album, So Good.

With a sold-out gig at the o2 Academy in Leeds, supported by the brilliant Taya, everyone who came along was witness to an absolutely glorious show.

Larsson’s combination of pop grooves with urban beats give a powerful thumbs up to her contemporaries. Her show was non-stop from start to finish with blistering dance moves from both herself and her team of dancers.

Covering tracks such as Sundown, What They Say, Don’t Let Me Be Yours, I Can’t Fall in Love With You kept the Leeds crowd swaying (or the ones who could barely move within the packed out crowd).

Finishing the set with her rendition of Symphony – on which she collaborated with Clean Bandit – Larsson would seemingly convert even some of the biggest pop despisers and most of the dads sat on the sofa waiting for the daughters!

Larsson may only just be out of her teens but she has a catalogue of real quality and a very experienced head on a young pair of shoulders.
