The imminent future appears to be the male singer-songwriter, the acoustic guitar, the sonnets of love and life and being cheated on on Facebook. The neatly coiffured hair and Gary Barlow-esque charm all adhere to the magic of the easy listening style.
Greenan defies this trend, quite magnificently. He’s raucous and a little grime, with a hint of wild. His rasping voice is his trademark and a trademark that will be appearing more frequently around the world.
Leeds sold out, every other tour date sold out and with solid reason he sold out too. You’ve heard him before? Damn right you have, he featured on Chase & Status’ ‘All Gone Wrong’ which to date has had over three million views on YouTube.
The Brudenell was a fine platform for such a talented young guy. His Cockney charms were echoed throughout the room and each song was responded with a serenade of Yorkshire twang.
The downside, if I had to find one? His set could have been longer because people wanted to hear more. Not a criticism but a testament to base your future success on.
