Celebrated indie music night Charm returns to Harrogate’s coolest bar Major Tom’s Social for a night of summer pop, 60s-influenced classic British guitar rock and psychedelia.
Famed for bringing the likes of Wild Beasts, Gruff Rhys, Julian Cope, I Like Trains, This Et Al and The Grammatics to Harrogate in the past, the latest Charm night will be headlined by acclaimed Leeds guitar band The Seagulls.
Boasting a 60’s psychedelic sound, quirky songwriting skills, unusual harmonies and a very British rock ’n’ roll vibe, The Seagulls latest single on Sandtrap Records, Girl You Must Be Dreaming, has been receiving rave reviews.
The five-piece band are fresh from supporting famed indie cult band The Monochrome Set at a show in London.
Consisting of Dominic Richmond (guitar/lead vocals), Jon Richmond (guitar/vocals), Nick Richmond (keyboards/vocals), Alex Fells (bass/vocals) and Sam Wainwright (drums/vocals), The Seagulls cite their influences as The Kinks, Scott Walker, Lee Hazlewood, Conor Oberst, The Smiths, Arctic Monkeys, Stone Roses,The Jam and My Morning Jacket.
They make their live debut in Harrogate for Charm in the build-up to the release of their new album.
The Second Summer of Charm at Major Tom’s will also feature a spectacular light show courtesy of VJ Quadrod who will also be playing the Charm mix – classic tracks picked by Charm’s team of musicians and music writers.
Tickets: £4 from Harrogate Theatre or on the door.
