Guitar hero Eric Clapton will see the Leeds First Direct Arena packed to the rafters when he takes to the stage on Sunday night.

Clapton is perhaps best known for the anthemic ‘70s hit Layla with Derek and the Dominos. The blues rocker, who has graced a stage alongside The Beatles, Tina Turner, Sting, The Who, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd and Phil Collins, will also be expected to play his much-loved hit Tears In Heaven, which was inspired by the death of his young son Conor in 1991.

The gig, which is just one of two UK dates, is being followed by hit band The Eagles, who will perform at the Arena on Monday.

The American rockers are well known for their hits Hotel California, Lyin’ Eyes and Take It Easy.
