Rather than simply watch the latest blockbuster at Cineworld Castleford, you can now feel it.

Thanks to the revolutionary 4DX technology movie fans will get the full cinematic experience for the first time ever at their local Cineworld from Friday, June 1.

The 4DX curved screen is taller than a double decker bus, while the 152 seats have been specially designed to help bring the movie to life and place cinema fans right in the middle of the action.

Available in both 2D and 3D formats, 4DX amazes audiences by working in perfect synchronicity with the onscreen action. High-tech motion seats leave audiences gasping as they experience the dramatic effects of wind, water, fog, snow, strobe lights and vibrations – even tickling! – in sync with the film.

Movie fans will be able to immerse themselves in the latest films like never before. Imagine feeling just like you’re in a galaxy far, far away as Solo: A Star Wars Story unfolds on the screen, or the thrills of the fictional island of Isla Nublar in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

To introduce the pioneering technology, Cineworld Castleford is hosting the ultimate 4DXtreme challenge at Xscape Yorkshire in Colorado Way between noon and 4pm on Thursday, May 31. There’ll be the chance to experience the thrill and surprises of 4DX and win two tickets to a 4DX screening.

Entrants just need to prove that they are capable of handling the multisensory elements of the technology – and keep hold of their popcorn while facing wind, water and high tech motion! Those who last the longest will be awarded Cineworld prizes and will be entered into a prize draw to win 2 4DX tickets!
