Special screening of acclaimed film in Leeds

yorkshire is set to grace the silver screen in new cinema release Testament of Youth.

And cinema-goers in Leeds are being invited to attend a special screening of the critically acclaimed film tonight.

Audiences across the UK are being given the chance to put their questions to the filmmakers via a live satellite link that will see the event beamed into cinemas nationwide.

Special screenings will be held at The Light, in Leeds, and Showcase Cinema, in Batley.

Testament of Youth, which is part funded by Screen Yorkshire, the BBC and the British Film Institute, is based on the First World War memoir by Vera Brittain which became the classic testimony of the conflict from a woman’s point of view.

Scenes are shot in Leeds, Bradford, York, Keighley and near Scarborough and it is directed by Yorkshireman James Kent.
