Music preview: Nick Curly at Distrikt, Leeds

If there is one person who has had a long and winding relationship with Leeds then it must be Nick Curly; not only a one time resident of our city, he has performed here for over ten years at nearly every venue around and about that you could name!

That said, in recent times his home from home has been one like no other, the legendary Distrikt, where he drafts in his Trust events along with promoter Liam Donnachie. The Trust element has been a worldwide success, and marrying this with the now famous courtyard parties, this August 5 event is set to be a sure winner for the more discerning music lover.

The German producer, who has released music on London’s iconic labels Defected and Hot Since 82s Knee Deep, will be ably supported by Tuskagees Bas Bellini.

On September 30 Leeds label Albion Records, who have been making recent appearances on local radio station K-mah, will also play at their home away from home Distrikt, on Duncan Street. The house imprint, who are lovers of all things vinyl, have had a string of sell out releases over the past five years and have garnered huge support from a plethora of their heroes.

This September they celebrate another amazing year with a triple pronged attack of Francesco Del Garda, Evan Baggs and TC80. Those Albion guys always offer a quality atmosphere, and this will be a perfect way to round off the summer.
