Their latest single Happy is the first release from the new album and inspired the band to write and produce Blood Orange in late 2016.

Their new sound, labelled by fans as ‘Tropical Pop’, has seen the band making waves up and down the country over the last few years with their Sixties inspired guitar sound and stylistic attitude. Amongst the album’s floating chimes and dark cadence, the record tilts and turns at several points echoing those early Britpop and Sixties influences throughout. The lead single is accompanied by a live video shot from various shows around the country, giving the audience an idea of the energy and charisma the band put into their live shows.

Having played regularly around the country and secured plays on local and national radio such as BBC Radio 2 and BBC Introducing, they have left their audience with great anticipation for the new release. The band also performed a live session on BBC Introducing in July, debuting new material from the forthcoming album.

After the release of their highly anticipated debut album Desert Eleven they hit the road headlining major venues across the UK including sold out shows in London, Leeds and Manchester and gained a dedicated following.

The band consists of three brothers who have been producing music together from a very young age giving that raw, live sound which has become an integral part of their recording process. Having written, recorded and produced the record themselves at various locations around Leeds and you can hear that they’ve found their sound with this album.

“We started making this record over a year ago at Eiger Studios in Leeds, tracking a few drums as demos. We really wanted to keep that raw sound so we ended up using some takes from the original sessions. The whole thing was recorded as live takes and we wanted to keep that live feel throughout,” says Dom Richmond of The Seagulls.
