The congregation are also asked to bring a new small toy or gift to put under the tree for distribution to underprivileged children in Leeds.

Rev Corley said: “We are really looking forward to tomorrow’s service. It reflects so much of the heart of Christmas as we come together to celebrate that God comes to all of us and surprises us with his joy, peace and goodness.

“And, of course, the service is about reflecting that generosity as money is collected to support the local hospices and gift that go to the most deserving children in our city. Truly a time of receiving and giving.’

Nicola Furbisher, YEP editor added: “We are delighted to be involved. It is the perfect way to get into the festive spirit and bring families, friends and communities together.

Tickets can be obtained from 0333 207 0743 for a minimum donation of £3.50 to be split between the Minster and the YEP Half and Half appeal.
