Check out this Leeds school with a difference

Thankfully, the arrival of Liquor Studio in Leeds at the end of last year came just in time.

Located on Lower Briggate above Hedonist Bar, this new gin school and distillery is equipped with everything you need to create your very own brand of the nation’s favourite liquor. Throw an entertaining history of gin into the mix, alongside some expertly mixed G&Ts and you’ve got the kind of school you don’t want to skip.

The school is headed up by Hedonist drinks experts Dan Crowther and Jon Lee, who has rapidly become one of the liquor industries most trusted authorities.

It didn’t take me long to decide that I’d be creating a Pink Gorilla gin, which I achieved using angelica, hibiscus, apple, ginger, a dash of elderflower and of course, juniper berries.

The end result was pretty impressive and one I was proud to take home, although I reckon it will be a while before the likes of Slingsby’s will be knocking at my door for a collab!

Overall, this is a really cool and unique experience, whether you’re planning a birthday treat for your gin-loving relative or an alternative team night out.
