TENNIS: Wright's treble triumph at club championships

Jo Wright claimed a triple haul of titles at Chapel Allerton Lawn Tennis Club's annual championships on Sunday.

She defended her ladies’ singles crown by beating new member Jo Morris, before teaming up with Morris to overcome Elspeth Beattie and Laura Morris in the doubles final. Wright ended her afternoon by securing the mixed doubles trophy with son Josh, seeing off the challenge of Jo Morris and partner Daniel Alfelua in the final.

The victory underlined Wright’s dominance in a singles competition which she has won 14 times during her career and held consecutively since 2005.
