St Ledger's Guiseley face tricky trip to in-form Hartlepool United

Sean St Ledger’s men are staring down the barrel of relegation as they are 15 points from safety with only eight games left but after holding Leyton Orient for long periods on Good Friday before going down to a 3-1 defeat, the Lions will be hopeful of coming away from Victoria Park with a result.

Hartlepool were relegated from the Football League last season and have struggled most of the season but go into this afternoon’s game in decent form having won their last three games.

Elsewhere, Harrogate Town need a win at home to play-off hopefuls Blyth Spartans this afternoon to stay in touch with National North leaders Salford, having fallen six points behind at the top of the table.

Bradford Park Avenue host Chorley as both sides strive to stay in top-seven contention themselves and already-relegated North Ferriby will be targeting their fourth win of the campaign when they entertain Gainsborough Trinity.

York City will welcome back midfielder Simon Heslop for today’s trip to FC United of Manchester.

Heslop is available after serving the second of his two-game ban during Saturday’s 1-1 home draw with Chorley.

The Minstermen are also likely to reward Connor Smith with his third start of the campaign after he grabbed the second-half equaliser in that match, while fellow subs Adriano Moke and 17-year-old debutant Flynn McNaughton are in contention for first XI places too after impressing from the bench.

But 25-goal top-scorer Jon Parkin remains sidelined after knee surgery, along with attacking duo Louis Almond and Alex Kempster, who both currently have hamstring problems.
