Farsley Celtic boss Lakeland wary of basement-side Ferriby

The Celts progressed to the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy on Wednesday night following an impressive 4-0 replay victory at Carlton Town but despite going into tomorrow’s game as overwhelming favourites, boss Adam Lakeland expects a testing time in East Yorkshire.

“North Ferriby may be bottom of the league but they have got some good players,” said Lakeland. “They are fighting for their lives and their performances have picked up.

“We’ve got to go there with the right mindset, the right attitude and go there in the knowledge that if we work hard and play well, we’ll have a great chance of picking up the three points.

“If we underestimate them, we could become unstuck.”

Farsley are currently seven points behind leaders Scarborough Athletic with three games in hand.

In Evo-Stik East, fourth-placed Brighouse Town could move into the top two if they claim all three points at Wisbech Town tomorrow, while fifth-placed Tadcaster Albion can also push up the table with victory at home to Stamford.

Elsewhere, sixth-placed Pontefract Collieries host Spalding United, Ossett United travel to Carlton Town, Frickley Athletic host Belper Town and Pickering Town make the trip to Stocksbridge Park Steels.

The stand out match in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division sees third-placed Knaresborough Town host leaders Yorkshire Amateur.

Town are currently nine points behind their rivals but have three games in hand, so victory tomorrow could bring them back into the title frame.

Elsewhere, seventh-placed Hemsworth Miners Welfare travel to fifth-placed Worksop, basement-side Harrogate Railway host Garforth Town and Liversedge face a tough trip to Bridlington Town.

In Division One, Nostell MW take on Armthorpe Welfare, Selby Town host Glasshoughton Welfare and AFC Emley entertain Worsbrough Bridge.
