Cartman on target but Farsley Celtic slip to back-to-back defeats

The Celts once again fell victim to an early goal as Lewis Turner felled James Fitzgibbon in the box, with Danny Glover clinically firing the spot-kick home into the bottom corner.

It was Nathan Cartman who found the equaliser 10 minutes into the second half as he latched onto Paul Walker’s blocked shot and fired home into an empty net.

Cartman was involved once again as Farsley almost completed the turnaround with 15 minutes remaining, playing in Adam Priestley who hit the upright from a tight angle.

But it was Hednesford who took the lead with 10 minutes to play courtesy of Ben Bailey as he bundled home Darren Campion’s corner, with the hosts withstanding late Farsley pressure to hang on for the three points.

In Evo-Stik North, Ossett Albion ended a run of nine games without a win as a first-half Lebrun Mbeka strike was enough to hand the Unicorns a 1-0 win over Mossley.

Brighouse Town also earned a hard-fought victory as they defeated Colne 2-1. Gabriel Johnson had given Brighouse the lead, before Oliver Crankshaw levelled from the spot for Colne. And in the 80th minute Aaron Martin was on target to give Town the three points.

Tadcaster Albion were comfortably beaten by Hyde United 4-1, despite Aiden Savory giving Tadcaster an early lead, while Ossett Town slipped to a 4-0 defeat at Trafford.

Frickley Athletic twice surrendered a lead as they drew 3-3 with Romulus in Evo-Stik South. Danny Frost and Cameron Hough gave Frickley the advantage, only for Hedilberto Santos and Malachi Farquharson to draw Romulus level. Jacob Hazel then restored Frickley’s advantage before Jordan Francis secured Romulus a point.

Elsewhere, FC Halifax Town’s winless run now stretches to 12-games after they lost 1-0 to Barrow in the National League.

In National North, Harrogate Town dropped down to third place after a 3-2 defeat at FC United of Manchester, while Bradford Park Avenue are up to fifth place after winning 3-1 at Alfreton Town.
