Academy product Chris Annakin has signed a contract extension keeping him at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats until the end of next year.
The 25-year-old second-rower had a year remaining on his previous deal.
“I am very pleased to have signed the extension,” said Annakin, who has made six senior appearances this season.
“It is nice to have the security behind me. To keep me here for another year is great, especially because I have come up through the ranks at the club.
“Chris Chester has changed this squad around since coming in and we are now on a good run. He is making his plans for the future and it is nice to know I am a part of it.”
Coach Chester said: “It is important for the club that we have been able to secure another homegrown talent such as Chris Annakin.
“Chris has been a good servant to the Wildcats for seven years and I am delighted he has extended his contract for another 12 months.”
Annakin made his Wildcats debut in 2011 and has also had spells on dual-registration at Featherstone Rovers and London Broncos, as well as time on loan with Workington Town.
