Wakefield Trinity Wildcats: Moore banned but free to play in Challenge Cup semi

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats hooker Scott Moore will be available for this month's Ladbrokes Challenge Cup semi-final against Warrington Wolves, but Wigan Warriors will face Hull without two key players.

Moore, who has already served two suspensions this season, was banned for the maximum of one game after admitting making a grade A high tackle on Morgan Escare in last weekend’s win at Catalans Dragons.

He will sit out Sunday’s derby against his former club Castleford Tigers, but be available for the semi-final at Leigh six days later.

Forward Taulima Tautai and winger Josh Charnley will both be missing when Wigan face Hull at Doncaster in the first Cup semi-final on Friday, July 29.

Charnley was banned for two games after admitting making deliberate physical contact with a match official during his side’s 18-16 Super League defeat at Leeds Rhinos last Friday.

The Sale-bound former England international was seen grabbing the shoulder of match referee Robert Hicks to catch his attention while protesting a decision.

Tautai denied a charge of making dangerous contact on Leeds forward Adam Cuthbertson in the same game, but was found guilty by an RFL disciplinary tribunal at a hearing in Leeds on Tuesday evening.

The former Wakefield back-rower was accused of attacking the legs of Cuthbertson as he was being held in a two-man tackle and in a vulnerable position.

Like Charnley, he was handed a two-match ban and a £300 fine.
