Tigers were runaway leaders in 2017, topping the table by 10 points from Leeds Rhinos and ending the season 17 clear of fourth-placed St Helens.

Saints – who Tigers visit in round one in nine days’ time – are expected to mount a strong challenge for the league leaders’ shield and Sene-Lefao knows Tigers will be everybody’s number one target.

“Every team has got better and they are all training hard,” warned the 28-year-old Samoan pack man.

“They’ve got new signings and will be training just as hard as us so I think this year is going to be tough.

“The top-four you can’t pick right now, but we’ll take it one game at a time and make sure we’re winning games we need to be winning.”

Tigers scored more than 200 points more than their nearest rivals last term and will be looking to retain their tag as the competition’s great entertainers, but Sene-Lefao insisted that does not happen by accident.

“You hear it all the time that we throw the ball about, but we do have structure,” he said.

“It doesn’t look like it, but there is structure in there.

“The way some of our individuals play with the ball you think it’s off the cuff.

“We have some special players in our team and what they do is very special for us.”
