FROM NOW on every game is a cup final for Featherstone Rovers, coach John Duffy reckons.
Rovers are third in the Betfred Championship and, if they win at Sheffield Eagles today (3pm, will go second for at least 24 hours until rivals Toulouse Olympique’s game at Rochdale Hornets,.
But they are only two points ahead of London Broncos and Leigh Centurions – who are fifth and sixth – and Duffy knows hard work is still required with five teams battling for three places in the Qualifiers, behind leaders Toronto Wolfpack.
“We need to make sure we are in the top four,” stressed the Rovers boss, whose side have won their last two games.
“We are in a good position, but we can’t have a week off.
“We seem to have our confidence back now and we’ve just got to try and build some momentum towards the back end of the season.

“We need to be on it every week.”
Duffy insisted Rovers can’t afford to focus on the league table. He added: “We just need to take each week as it comes.
“We are down to our last 17 players, but I think we’ve got the personnel to do it and when we get bodies back, in four or five weeks, they’ll really lift us for the back end.”
Eagles are ninth, but won 38-20 at Batley Bulldogs last weekend.
Duffy said: “They played really well. Cory Aston is firing for them and they’ve got Menzie Yere back and Adam Swift and some players from St Helens. They are a dangerous team at the moment, so we’ve got to make sure we’ve got our game plan right and we are on it from minute one.”
Luke Briscoe, who signed for Leeds Rhinos this week on a deal until the end of the season, has been named in Rovers’ squad for today, alongside another dual-registration player Jack Ormondroyd.
