Hull-born Cox made his debut for Rovers against York in 2011, scoring two tries in the Challenge Cup tie and impressing having come through the East Yorkshire club's academy.

He spent time out on loan at various clubs but made 64 appearances for the Robins, scoring six tries, before moving onto Warrington Wolves in 2016 where he was coached by current KR chief Tony Smith.

Cox spent time on trial with Hull FC last year but returned to the Robins this season to play for the club's newly reformed reserves side.

KR chairman Neil Hudgell said: “Jordan’s passing has come as a terrible shock to us all at the club.

“I last saw him at a reserves game and exchanged a few jokey one liners with him.

Jordan always seemed so full of life and spirit and his loss is so sad. I’d like to express my sincere condolences to his Mum, girlfriend and family at this awful time.”
