Rhinos star to miss Grand Final

LEEDS RHINOS have confirmed forward Stevie Ward will not play again this year.

Ward has been ruled out of next Saturday’s Super League Grand Final and contention for England’s Test series against New Zealand after being told he needs a knee reconstruction.

The 21-year-old was injured in last week’s win at Huddersfield Giants, which clinched the league leaders’ shield.

Rhinos coach Brian McDermott said: “This is desperately sad news for Stevie as he has been in fantastic form for us this season.

“Our medical team will make sure he comes back even stronger next season. He is a key player in our group now and will have a bright future at the club.”
