Oldham 28 Batley 12: In-form Bulldogs suffer only second defeat of the season

Oldham bounced back from successive defeats over the Easter weekend with a convincing 28-12 victory against in-form Batley.

Jamel Chisholm (2), Richard Lepori, Liam Johnson and Sam Gee all went over as the Roughyeds put the disappointment of losing to Halifax and Swinton behind them.

Tom Lillycrop and Wayne Reittie touched down for the visitors as they fell to just their second league defeat of the season.

Sheffield produced a dominant second-half performance to record a 46-28 victory over Bradford.

The Eagles were ahead at the break thanks to tries from Cory Aston, Elliot Minchella and Ryan Millar, with Danny Addy and Lee Gaskell crossing for the hosts. But Garry Lo (2), Mark Mexico, Duane Straugheir and George Tyson all crossed as Sheffield pulled clear in the second period.

Meanwhile Swinton moved off the bottom with a 26-22 victory over Workington, who now prop up the table.

The hosts held a 20-10 lead at the break thanks to tries from Gabriel Fell, Stuart Littler, Rhodri Lloyd and Liam Marshall, while Jack Murphy and Chris Murphy crossed for Workington.

The visitors opened the second half with tries from Graeme Mattinson and Jarrod Sammut, with Carl Forber converting each of them to edge his side in front.

But Chris Atkin converted his own try in the 67th minute to seal the points.
