National Conference round-up: results and scorers for East Leeds, Stanningley, Hunslet Warriors, Oulton Raiders, Milford, Hunslet Club Parkside, Drighlington and Thornhill Trojans

East Leeds and Stanningley came out on top in National Conference group D derbies, beating city rivals Hunslet Warriors and Oulton Raiders.

Hunslet Club Parkside also picked up a win, but there were defeats for Milford and Drighlington.

Easts were reduced to 11 players late on against Warriors, but had the game in the bag by that stage, when they led 24-0.

All but four of their points came in the first half, through tries by Nathan Conroy, Shaun

Jordan, Andy Djeukessi and Luke Littlewood, two of which Conroy converted.

Shane Plunkett extended the lead three minutes after the resumption, but Conroy was sent-off for punching with 15 minutes left and Thomas Howson sin-binned soon afterwards for retaliation.

Warriors took advantage with a late try by Dave Bateson which Daryl Gaunt converted to make it 24-6.

Stanningley trailed 16-6 at half-time away to Oulton, but hit back to win 28-24.

Edward Crossland scored two tries and four goals and Dion Henry, Daniel Barcoe and

Carl McGuigan also crossed.

Matthew Stableford, Danny Macintosh, Robbie Powell and Hayden Stableford were Raiders’ try scorers and Archie Craggs added four goals.

Also in group D, Milford got off to a flying start against Siddal, leading 6-0 through Kieran Wilyman’s try which was converted by Rhys Greenhall, but that was as good as it got and they went down to a 48-6 defeat.

Former Leeds Rhinos academy full-back Liam Whitton was among Siddal’s try scorers.

Craig McShane scored a hat-trick as Parkside thrashed Dewsbury Celtic 62-8 in a cross-group fixture.

Jack McShane and Ritchie Westwood both bagged a brace and other try scorers were Kieran Murphy, Ben Shulver, Connor Squires and Luke Rayner.

Jamie Fields added nine goals.

Mick Foulstone went over for Celtic, the referee also awarding a penalty for a foul in the fact of scoring. Charlie Heaton kicked both goals.

Drighlington were beaten 48-6 by visitors Featherstone Lions in group F.

Ben Narbozny scored the hosts’ try and Michael Sanderson added the extras.

Chris Bingham and Jake Perkins both touched down twice for Lions, other try scorers were Danny Thompson, Jack Ellam, Danny Glassell, Ben Mawson and Jake Ward.

Glassell and Mike Wise each kicked three conversions.

Home side Thornhill Trojans hit back from 18-6 behind at the break to beat Lock Lane 24-18.

George Woodcock scored a try and four goals for Thornhill and Jordan Lowther, Jake Wilson and Harry Woollard also crossed.

Tom Egan grabbed 14 of Lock Lane’s points through two tries and three goals and Chris Siddons was their other scorer.

The visitors’ James Cranswick was sent-off in the second half, for a high tackle.
