London v Leeds Rhinos: Plucky Broncos out to ruffle a few feathers warns Rhinos '˜old boy'

LONDON BRONCOS will be out to 'ruffle a few feathers' when they play host to Leeds Rhinos in the Qualifiers today.

Broncos finished second in the Kingstone Press Championship and are in buoyant mood after last week’s 76-16 drubbing of Batley Bulldogs.

London’s Alex Foster, who made eight substitute appearances for Leeds in 2013, knows today will be a huge step up in class, but is confident Broncos will give a good account of themselves.

“It’s the first chance to test ourselves against Super League opposition,” Foster said.

“We have stepped up the intensity in training this week and what Leigh did to Salford last week has given us confidence that Championship sides can play Super League teams and get a result.

“We know we are in for a massive challenge, but we haven’t got much to lose and I don’t think there’s any pressure on us.

“It is chance to measure ourselves and see what we can do.”

Foster had a loan spell at London in 2014 and rejoined them in the off-season after spending last year with Featherstone Rovers.

He played against Batley last week, but has been carrying a groin injury and is sidelined today, though he will be at the game.

He said: “Liam Sutcliffe is probably the only one in the first team from my time coming through, but obviously I played with people like Danny McGuire and Rob Burrow.

“It will be nice to see them again and hopefully we can ruffle a few feathers.”
