Rams are on a seven-game losing run and coach Neil Kelly said: “We are not in the best of form and often when you are struggling for results you also get injuries.

“We have got eight players injured.

“With an already small squad that is seriously hampering us at the moment.”

Kelly said the circumstances – travelling to and from London on the day and playing on an artificial pitch – make this afternoon’s game “unique”.

“We are going down there to put a performance in,” he stated.

“We have looked at London and we know there’s things we need to do to stop them playing, but we have got to play ourselves.

“We are going to try to produce a complete performance, which is something we’ve not been doing.”

Kelly, whose side lost 46-18 at home to Halifax last week, added: “During this period of losses we’ve been good in parts of games, but failed to produce a complete performance and that’s ultimately why we’ve lost.

“If we produce a complete game this week it won’t guarantee a win, but it will give us a nice springboard into more promising fixtures in the weeks to come.”
