Wigan Warriors full-back Sam Tomkins has been named as odds-on-favourite to win the prestigious Lance Todd Trophy as man of the match in Saturday’s Carnegie Challenge Cup final between Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors at Wembley.
Tomkins has been priced at 9/4 to win the accolade for the outstanding individual performance in the final by the Challenge Cup’s official betting partner, William Hill - making him one of the shortest-priced players ever for the award.
Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield and playmakers Danny McGuire and Danny Budereus have been priced at 10/1 alongside Wigan duo Paul Deacon and Pat Richards as the other most likely contenders to win the Lance Todd Trophy.
Wigan have also been named as 1/4 favourites to win the final within the regulation 80 minutes with Leeds priced at 11/4.
Sam Tomkins and Richards have also been named as the favourites to score the opening try, with both players priced at 8/. Ryan Hall is the Leeds player with the shortest odds to score the opening try at 10/1.
