TEENAGE WINGER Ash Handley has been included in Leeds Rhinos’ initial 19-man squad for Saturday’s Ladbrokes Challenge Cup final.
Handley, 19, has scored 13 tries in 20 appearances this season and will act as cover in case of late injuries in the outside-backs.
The 19-year-old played for Rhinos academy in their win at Castleford Tigers on Wednesday night.
Brett Delaney is set to return after two games out due to a hamstring injury and Rhinos are close to full-strength, missing only long-term casualties Liam Sutcliffe (knee), Jamie Jones-Buchanan (quad) and Paul Aiton (broken arm), who have all been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Hull KR coach Chris Chester has named half-back Albert Kelly in his initial squad.
The Australian has not played since suffering a knee injury in the semi-final win over Warrington Wolves 27 days ago.
Meanwhile, ex-Leeds Rhinos hooker Shaun Lunt, who had been on loan from Huddersfield Giants, has signed a four-year contract with Rovers, which is a significant boost for the East Yorkshire club ahead of Saturday’s Wembley Challenge Cup final.
Leeds Rhinos’ initial squad is: Hardaker, Briscoe, Watkins, Moon, Hall, McGuire, Burrow, Leuluai, Peacock, Ablett, Sinfield, S Ward, Delaney, Achurch, Cuthbertson, Singleton, Keinhorst, Handley, Garbutt.
Hull KR’s 19 is: Allgood, Blair, Boudebza, Cockayne, Dixon, Donaldson, Green, Horne, Kelly, Larroyer, Lunt, McCarthy, Mantellato, Puletua, Salter, Sio, Tilse, Walker, Welham.
