LONG-TERM CASUALTY Brett Ferres is set to return for Leeds Rhinos against Salford Red Devils tomorrow.
A knee injury has restricted Ferres to just one appearance in Rhinos’ last 10 games.
After four matches on the sidelines following minor surgery he made an attempted comeback in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup semi-final defeat to Hull in July, but has not played since.
He is now back in training and has been named in coach Brian McDermott’s initial 19-man squad for tomorrow.
Fellow back-rower Brett Delaney, who missed last Friday’s defeat at Castleford after suffering a hamstring problem in the warm-up, is also included.
Half-back/hooker Rob Burrow, who was suspended last week, is set to make his final league appearance at Headingley, and Joel Moon (groin) could return following a two-game lay-off.
Ashton Golding, called in as an unused substitute last week after Delaney withdrew, is set to return at full-back in place of Jack Walker (hamstring).
Half-back Jordan Lilley is left out. Keith Galloway (Achilles) is the only member of Leeds 20-man elite squad not in contention for tomorrow.
Salford coach Ian Watson will select from the 17 who beat Huddersfield Giants last week, plus George Griffin and Daniel Murray.
Leeds Rhinos: from Golding, Briscoe, Watkins, Moon, Hall, McGuire, Burrow, Parcell, Cuthbertson, Jones-Buchanan, Ablett, Ward, Sutcliffe, Delaney, Singleton, Garbut, Keinhorst, Ferres, Mullally.
