Briscoe, who played in Super League for Leeds in 2014 and 2016, has signed for them from Featherstone Rovers on a deal until the end of the season.

He is believed to be the only player to rejoin Rhinos twice and will take over from Ryan Hall – who is in Denver ahead of England’s Test against New Zealand on Saturday - on the left-wing against Catalans Dragons at Emerald Headingley.

Jordan Lilley was originally named in Leeds’ 19-man squad, but failed a fitness test on a foot injury and is replaced by Briscoe, who has scored 28 tries in 19 games this season for Rovers and last month equalled Leeds legend Eric Harris’ all-time British rugby league record when he touched down in a 17th consecutive match. He will be available to rejoin Rovers on dual-registration after tonight.

Full-back/hooker Ashton Golding (ankle) and prop Mikolaj Oledzki (concussion) could return after missing last Friday’s 23-22 defeat by St Helens.

Catalans, who have stayed in Yorkshire since last Friday’s 26-25 defeat at Huddersfield Giants, are without prop Sam Moa who has been banned for two games following a high tackle five days ago. Winger Fouad Yaha is available after a one match suspension and Tongan stand-off Samisoni Langi is also in contention.
