Former Leeds Rhinos favourite Ryan Bailey is one of three front rowers released by beaten Challenge Cup finalists Warrington Wolves.

Former Brisbane Broncos prop Mitchell Dodds has also been released after making just two substitute appearances in Super League.

The Wolves have also confirmed the departure of ex-Hull KR forward Jordan Cox – like Bailey – after just one season at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. All three players joined Warrington 12 months ago on one-year deals.

Bailey, 31, made 15 appearances, including the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup final at Wembley and the First Utility Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford, while Cox, 24, missed out on the club’s bid for glory, with only one appearance in the last three months of the season. Dodds, 27, missed the start of the season with a hand injury and broke a leg on his second appearance, in the opening moments of a 30-20 win over Catalans in Perpignan in March.

Warrington boss Tony Smith said: “I’d like to thank all three players for their contributions. They all played their part in helping us achieve the League Leaders’ Shield and making it to two finals.”

Warrington have released a fourth prop, Ben Evans, who has signed for London Broncos, but are bringing back Mike Cooper from St George Illawarra and are being linked with Wigan’s Dom Crosby.
