The player - who featured in Friday’s win against Huddersfield Giants - will now isolate and, as part of the track and trace protocols, two further members of the squad have been stood down ahead of Friday’s Challenge Cup quarter-final against Hull KR.

Meanwhile, the club says a second player - who is not a contact trace - has reported symptoms to the club this morning as part of the daily screening programme that is mandatory for every player and is currently awaiting results from an antigen test taken on Wednesday morning.

A statement added: “This player produced a negative test on Monday. “The Rhinos players and staff were on a planned recovery day on Wednesday and therefore preparations for Friday’s Coral Challenge Cup Quarter Final have not been impacted thus far.

“Following the first positive test, the entire squad will not return to training until the training facility has been sanitised by a specialist contractor.

“As part of the Super League wide, testing programme the clubs cover the costs of the competition’s preferred testing partner Screen4.

“Players and officials from each club undergo weekly antigen testing. “The Rhinos squad and staff were tested on Monday morning this week with only one positive result.

“None of the players impacted this week were involved in the issues surrounding last Friday’s win over Huddersfield Giants, when a number of players were stood down as a precaution.

“At present, the Rhinos intend to go ahead as planned with this Friday’s Coral Challenge Cup Quarter Final against Hull KR at the Totally Wicked Stadium in St Helens.”
