Falloon joined Rhinos from Gold Coast Titans in the off-season, but suffered a broken toe in training and has yet to make a competitive appearance.

Chief executive Gary Hetherington said: “He is hoping to get the all clear for Friday’s game. Beau and Jamie Jones-Buchanan are both pretty close and could be cleared to play this week.”

Jones-Buchanan has not featured since suffering a quad injury in Leeds’ Ladbrokes Challenge Cup semi-final win over St Helens last July.

He was in the initial squad to face Huddersfield Giants three days ago and took 18th man duties.

Mitch Achurch, who played against Catalan Dragons at the end of last month despite cracked ribs, missed the Giants game due to illness, so Jordan Baldwinson was drafted into the 17 for the first time since rejoining the club, though he did not get off the substitutes’ bench.

Centre Joel Moon (hamstring) and winger Ash Handley (kneecap) both picked up knocks, which added to Rhinos’ injury woes.

Hetherington said: “From our full first-team squad, everybody who is fit is playing. There is nobody else. The 18th and 19th men last week were Jamie and Sam Hallas so we are now into our academy squad. That is fine, but it gives an indication of where we are at.”
