Kain stars with hat-trick in Dewsbury's big victory over Oldham

Half-back Andy Kain scored a second-half hat-trick of tries to help Dewsbury to a 46-10 win over Oldham at the Tetley's Stadium.

Dalton Grant, Dom Speakman, Jason Crookes and Etuate Uaisele were the Rams’ other tryscorers and Paul Sykes kicked nine goals for Glenn Morrison’s men.

Oldham trailed 22-0 at half-time and second-half tries from Joe Burke and Jamel Chisholm could not prevent their side suffering a sixth straight defeat.

Bradford Bulls came from behind to gain a precious 29-22 win over bottom club Workington at Derwent Park to move up to fifth in the table.

Half-back Lewis Charnock, who has joined the Bulls on loan from St Helens, marked his debut with a crucial try five minutes from the end, to add to earlier efforts from Gareth O’Brien, Ethan Ryan, Adam Sidlow and James Clare.

Danny Addy kicked four goals and a drop goal.

Hunslet Hawks raced into an early 12-0 lead against York City Knights in Championship 1, but the hosts hit back to win a bruising encounter 34-26.

Jimmy Watson and Lewis Reed’s tries got Hunslet off to a flier, both converted by Simon Brown.

York hit back to level, but Jimmy Duckworth’s try, improved by Danny Ansell, gave Hunslet the half-time lead.

Two converted tries in the early stages of the second period put York in front for the first time, before Josh Tonks saw yellow for Knights.

Lee Mapals’ try (66) improved by Ansell, gave the visitors hope of salvaging something from the game, but Danny Nicklas converted try ended Hunslet’s hopes of victory before a fiery finish saw the game end 12 versus 11 with Ben Dent and Jack Aldous sin-binned for York and Jake Normington sent off for Hunslet.
