PROMOTION-CHASING Bradford Bulls have secured the services of Super League duo James Clare and Matt Ryan.
Castleford Tigers winger Clare, 24, has signed a deal until the end of next season and Australian second-row Ryan, released by Wakefield Trinity Wildcats earleir this week, joins until the end of the current campaign.
Clare scored 24 tries in 38 appearances for his hometown club Castleford but has been on loan at League 1 York City Knights recently where he crossed nine times in just seven appearances.
Former Parramatta Eels forward Ryan made 37 appearances in two seasons at Belle Vue, scoring six tries.
He can also play centre and both come into contention for Sunday’s Championship trip to Halifax - ahead of the Qualifiers that start next month.
Bradford head coach James Lowes said: “Both have good Super League experience and I think that is going to be important heading into the Super 8s.
“James is a young lad, who is going to have a long future in the game.
“He is a finisher with great pace and when he became available, we grabbed him.
“Matt had a great season with Wakefield last year and has got a few Super League games under his belt.
“He offers us fantastic cover, both in the back-row and in the centres.
“You want competition for places and they should certainly lift what we are doing in training.”
