The Australian, 32, was a revelation in his first campaign back at the club last year, scoring 19 tries in 24 games after re-joining from London Broncos.

Dorn helped the Tigers reach Wembley and their best-ever Super League finish of fourth.

He captained the side recently against Huddersfield Giants in the absence of Michael Shenton and is thrilled to lengthen his second spell at the West Yorkshire club after a previous stint in 2008.

“I am very excited and pleased to have it confirmed,” said Dorn, who hopes to return against Leeds Rhinos on Good Friday after a severe facial wound requiring 20 stitches saw him miss the win against Hull FC.

“I am enjoying my time at Cas and it was a no-brainer for me.

“I am just excited that I will continue to be part of what we have created here for another year.”

Head coach Daryl Powell added: “I’m delighted. Dorny has shown again this season what a pivotal figure he is for the team when he’s playing well and I’m sure he will continue to do that for the next two years at least.

“His speed in attack has been outstanding and his voice within the group has been a big contributing factor to our improvement as a team.”

Tigers chief executive Steve Gill said: “I am really happy that Luke has agreed to stay at the club for another year.

“He has been really instrumental in a lot of the good things we do here, both on and off the field.

“He is a quality footballer who gives our attack another dimension.”
