Leeds Rhinos duo Luke Briscoe and James Duckworth have joined Hunslet Hawks for the 2015 season.
The pair played on dual-registration for Hawks in last month’s trial game against Salford Red Devils and featured in several of Rhinos’ pre-season matches.
Both players had a spell at Hunslet last year and featured in the Kingstone Press Championship One Grand Final win at over Oldham at Headingley Carnegie last October.
Duckworth played twice for Rhinos in 2013 before joining London Broncos on a one-year temporary deal. He also turned out for London Skolars, then was released to sign for Hunslet, scoring three tries in seven appearances.
Briscoe – brother of Leeds’ England winger Tom – made four starts and three appearances off the bench for Hawks in 2014, scoring one try.
He also played twice on loan for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and three times for Leeds.
Hawks director of Rugby Darren Williams said: “I’m delighted to add James and Luke to our 2015 squad, adding extra competition to our outside-backs.
“Both were popular additions in our play-off campaign towards the end of 2014 and fitted in well with the rest of the squad.
“James is a powerful finisher who is great at getting out of yardage and Luke is deceptively strong and has added utility value.”
Rhinos chief executive Gary Hetherington said: “They are not contracted to us for next year, but both continue to be in our sights for 2016.”
Both players could be in the side to face Featherstone Rovers in Monday evening’s opening Championship fixture at Wakefield’s Belle Vue.
