Barry Eaton has named his squad for Friday’s annual Leeds Brewery Lazenby Cup game against last season’s treble winners Leeds Rhinos.
Included in the squad is winger Richie Barnett, who has put pen to paper on a new one-year contract. Barnett joined the club from Keighley Cougars for the 2015 season and went on to score six tries in 25 appearances in his second spell at the South Leeds Stadium.
Also included are trialists Jamie Milburn, from Fryston Warriors ARLFC, and ex-flying winger Lee Mapals, who recently had spells at Gloucestershire All Golds and Newcastle Thunder.
Three players from the Leeds Rhinos Grand Final-winning team have been included in the Leeds team. Grand Final try scorer Josh Walters will start at loose-forward whilst Jimmy Keinhorst lines up in the centres. The final member of the Grand Final trio is prop Mitch Garbutt who is joined in the front row by new signing Jordan Baldwinson.
The Hawks will be looking to win back the Lazenby Cup after losing out 28-14 last January. Admission on the evening is £10 adults, £5 concessions and free for under 16s. Kick-off is 8pm and the Phoenix Lounge will be open from 5pm.
