THINGS ARE beginning to click for Hunslet Hawks ahead of tonight’s home clash with Doncaster (7.30pm).
Hawks are bidding for a third straight win in the Kingstone Press League One Super-8s and an eighth success in nine matches.
“We’ve been a bit scratchy for most of the season, but last week at Keighley was the first time for a while we’ve sat in the changing rooms afterwards and felt like it was a genuine victory,” Hawks coach Matt Bramald said.
“Some of our wins have been a bit hollow because we’ve struggled to put teams away, but something has maybe started to click a bit.
“We are fit and in decent form and we will take it one week at a time and see how far that takes us.”
Doncaster are level on points with Hunslet, but have a game in hand.
“They will be looking to bounce back after last week [a 40-12 home loss to Barrow] so it is a good challenge for us,” Bramald added.
Bramald is hopeful Kyran Johnson will be available despite a groin problem. Simon Brown (hand) remains on the sidelines, but could return next week.
Hawks are to hold an open trial for league or union players wanting to earn a semi-professional contract.
The game will be staged at South Leeds Stadium on Saturday, November 5 and application forms are available from email@example.com
