winger vinny Finnigan is the most serious of a number of fitness concerns for Hunslet Hawks coach Barry Eaton.
Finnigan suffered a “slight hamstring tear” in last Friday’s 54-10 home defeat by Sheffield Eagles and Eaton said he is a “serious doubt” for Sunday’s game at Whitehaven.
Aaron Lyons is rated as 50-50 due to a calf proble.
Eaton added: “Michael Haley got a whack on the arm he has broken previously. That was a bit of a concern, but it has settled down and he should be fine.
“Matthew Tebb copped an elbow to the chin and had to come off. That’s settled down and we don’t think there’s a break or fracture. Andy Yates got a head knock, but no concussion and he should be fine.”
Hawks are eighth in the Kingstone Press Championship and Eaton said fixing individual errors is the priority this week.
“On review, I was disappointed with some of the tries we conceded against Sheffield,” he said. “Five or six were down to poor, one-on-one individual misses.
“We didn’t even get enough on them to slow them down to get help, which was disappointing, but overall the team played outstandingly well for the first 37 or 38 minutes and dug in in the second half.
“I am not downhearted, but you can’t afford individual errors against the good teams. We need to be tougher under fatigue.”
