Hunslet Hawks have continued their recruitment drive for 2016 with the addition of utility forward Ben Crane and the retention of Mo Agoro.
Hull-based Crane, 23, signed for Hull FC in 2011 and joined York City Knights in 2013 before injury ended his season at the Knights. He recently returned to full fitness and completed the current season in the National Conference with Hull Dockers.
Agoro, 22, signed from Oldham in November last year and made 13 appearances in 2015, scoring three tries having missed much of Hawks’ pre-season with ‘several’ knee injuries.
Hawks director of rugby Darren Williams said: “Ben is the calibre of player we were looking to bring into our squad for 2016 to freshen things up.
“He’s been in good systems and in his early 20s and he wanted another go at the professional game, he has a very good attitude and has some decent size about him as well. Jack Lee knows him from his time at York and recommended we take a look.”
Williams added: “Mo had a frustrating 2015, missing much of our pre-season programme with several knee injuries. He returned to fitness and established himself in the team towards the final stages of the season.
“He had a tremendous year at Oldham in 2014 in League 1 and we expect him to have an equally successful season for us in 2016.”
