Hunslet will hold a bucket collection, in aid of the Rob Burrow Fund at next Friday's traditional pre-season Harry Jepson Memorial Trophy match against Leeds at South Leeds Stadium.

And Betfred will donate £250 from every Sky game to Burrow, with the same amount for Hull KR's Mose Masoe who has been forced to retire after suffering a serious spinal injury in a pre-season game at Wakefield Trinity this month and is still in hospital.

Hunslet’s community manager Phil Hodgson said: “Rob’s devastating news has rocked everyone and people are keen to show their support in any way they can.

“We have previously raised funds for SITraN (the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience), who are working hard to find a cure for this terrible disease.”

Hunslet plan to further support Burrow with a sponsored run, in conjunction with the South Leeds Lakers Running Club, from the South Leeds Stadium to Emerald Headingley.

“The run will take place on Saturday, April 4 and details of how to get involved will be released shortly,” said Hodgson.

In past seasons Sky have donated £250 to the charity of their man of the match's choice, but this year the money will go to Burrow with Masoe receiving a similar sum.
