Leeds Rhinos travel to Huddersfield Giants tonight for the first of two successive meetings between Super League's surprise strugglers.

Here’s five talking points ahead of the game.

1: Leeds are down to the bare bones, with two players from outside the senior squad in contention for the game.

2: One of those, Luke Briscoe, has been re-signed after joining Hunslet Hawks from Leeds last year. He was in eye-catching form before undergoing a knee reconstruction and it is a golden opportunity to prove he is Super League-class.

3: Rhinos were strongly linked with Ryan Brierley, who instead joined Huddersfield. He scored a hat-trick against Wigan last week and will want to show Rhinos what they are missing.

4: Will Jordan Baldwinson finally get an opportunity to show what he can do, after just 10 minutes’ game time from two appearances in the 17? Last season’s Championship young player of the year deserves a shot.

5: Rhinos looked much more threatening on attack at St Helens last week. They will need to maintain that and improve greatly in defence to beat a Giants team who are playing better than their league position suggests.
