The chances of the strains of Marching On Together emanating from the Stretford End would be nil in normal circumstances.

But Super League’s Grand Final threw up the situation of Leeds fans populating the most famous area of Manchester United’s Old Trafford home.

And they sung the anthem which joins both Leeds United and their rugby league counterparts with huge gusto to celebrate the annexing of the final stage of the treble, which had earlier included winning the Challenge Cup and the League Leaders’ Shield.
