FEATHERSTONE ROVERS have made three signings ahead of tomorrow’s Northern Rail Cup visit of Widnes Vikings, writes PETER SMITH.

Half-back/hooker Tom Hemingway – a former Huddersfield Giants and Blackpool Panthers player – has signed a permanent deal after a spell as a trialist.

Ex-Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers full-back/half-back/hooker Jonny Hepworth will join Rovers when he has completed rugby union commitments with Rotherham Titans.

And Harlequins forward Dave Williams has linked up with Rovers on dual-registration.

Hemingway has signed until the end of this season. Hepworth’s deal is until the end of 2012.

Featherstone coach Daryl Powell said: “Tom has been with us over a month. He is a quality young bloke.

“Jonny is versatile and gives us good options in attack. He is quick and strong.

“He has trained with us and fits in with the group very well.

“I have had to do a fair bit of looking around to strengthen our pack and Dave Williams fits the bill.

“He is a big, rangy prop with a lot to offer.”

The only change to Rovers’ side for tomorrow – after last weekend’s win at Barrow – will see Williams replace injured prop Michael Haley.
