Featherstone Rovers: Team attitude berated by boss Duffy

WOUNDED FEATHERSTONE Rovers are sweating on the fitness of winger Misi Taulapapa who was hurt in the 44-24 Betfred Championship defeat at London Broncos two days ago.

Taulapapa went off late in the game, after scoring Rovers’ opening try, and coach John Duffy admitted the injury is a concern ahead of Sunday’s home match against the Samoan international’s former club Sheffield Eagles. Duffy said: “I think he’s just rolled his ankle.

“We are not too sure so we’ll have to look at that.

“I thought Misi was superb for us [against London]. He has been superb in all our games so far this season so if we were without him he’d be a big loss.”

Both teams went into last weekend’s game having won their opening two fixtures, but Duffy observed: “I don’t think our attitude was right.

“We spoke about that before the game and after our team run.

“We can’t turn up against anyone in this competition with our attitude being off so that’s down to me to get that right.

“We’ve got to get better and be really tough on ourselves this week with our review and turn up with the right attitude, ready to go next week.”

Rovers played for most of the second half with 12 men after prop Richard Moore was sent off for a foul on James Cunningham.
