THE KINGSTONE Press Championship’s form sides clash at the Summer Bash today in a showdown which will leave Blackpool rocking.
Second-placed Featherstone Rovers put their six-match winning run on the line against London Broncos who have won their last five and are fourth in the table.
Leaders Hull Kingston Rovers already seem assured of a place in the Qualifiers, but Rovers boss Jon Sharp reckons today’s Bloomfield Road set-to (4.45pm) will be pivotal in the battle for spots in the middle-eights. “It is a big one for the top-four,” Sharp said.
“It is too close to call – there’s ourselves, Toulouse, London and Halifax fighting for three spots.
“London are white hot at the moment and they are racking big scores up – they’ve scored 42, 38, 74 and 56 in their last four games – so they are in really good form and they are going to be a big challenge for us.”
But Sharp reckons the opposite is also true. He added: “We intend to make it a challenge for them.
“We know they are a good team and they are capable of scoring a lot of points so we have to defend well and work hard for each other and make sure we stop the many threats they have.
“It is going to be perfect conditions and the warm weather and dry tracks certainly suit our team.”
