FEATHERSTONE ROVERS can rise another couple of levels, their coach John Duffy believes.

Rovers are third in the Betfred Championship and have just come through a spell of five games in 19 days, winning four of them.

“I am pleased,” Duffy said of his team’s recent run, including a 46-18 victory over Dewsbury Rams two days ago.

“But the players know themselves they’ve still got a couple of gears left in them. There’s little things in our plays that let other teams off the hook when we could really put our foot down.

“We have got to make sure we are concentrating from minute one because our starts have not been too hot. But I am really happy with where we are and the way the squad’s going and hopefully we can continue that.”

Rovers came through their fixture pile-up with no major new injuries and Duffy added: “That’s another bonus. The physio and strength and conditioning staff have been great and we’ve done the right things off the field.”

Duffy is also delighted with the form of dual-registered Leeds centre Harry Newman who took his tally of Rovers tries to six with a brace against Rams.

“He has been fantastic, he has really bought into the club and the squad and I hope we can keep him because he’s been playing really well,” said Duffy.
