COACH GLENN Morrison reckons it has been a year of progress for Dewsbury Rams, marred by a disappointing finish.

Rams were sixth in the Kingstone Press Championship, but went out of the Shield at the semi-final stage, losing 34-18 at home to London Broncos.

Morrison said: “We did well to get to that point, but I think that was the best chance for us to get to a Grand Final and win one and unfortunately we came up with a poor performance, especially in the second half.

“It’s disappointing for the club and disappointing that we’ve worked hard to get to the position we were in and we didn’t quite go on with it.

“It has still been a good season, but disappointing we could not get over the line and get that extra week.”

The Dewsbury coach admitted he would have taken yesterday’s outcome if it had been offered to him at the start of the year.

“We got the position we wanted in the top-six,” he reflected.

“We will try and improve and if we can do that next year it will be a successful season.

“There’s a lot of hard work to do, but we are looking forward to it.”

Morrison said details of next year’s squad will be announced at a fans’ forum tomorrow.

“There will be a few coming in and a few leaving,” he said.
