A WIN has lifted Dewsbury Rams’ spirits ahead of tomorrow’s huge high noon shoot-out at Sheffield Eagles.
Rams picked up only their fifth victory of the season when they pipped Barrow Raiders 22-20 six days ago.
That was enough to lift them above tomorrow’s hosts into ninth place in the Betfred Championship.
“Every win creates another opportunity,” said Rams coach Neil Kelly.
“If it leads to another win it takes another bit of pressure off the team, league-wise.
“Obviously going to Sheffield is another high-pressure game, but we are going with a bit of confidence.”
Kelly added: “We took a lot out of last week’s game.
“We think we have identified the things that made the game 22-20 instead of 28-12 or something like that.
“We’ve got to keep the things that made it a good win and improve the areas that could have made it better.
“That’s what we need to put into practice this week.”
Eagles are only one point behind Dewsbury and Kelly warned: “It’s a tough place to go.
“They have a lot of dual-registered players and seem to pull loan signings out of a hat.
“When you prepare to play against them you are never 100 per cent sure what their team is going to be.
“The league table tells you they are in a pretty similar situation to us and I think it will be a good game.”
